The Battle for Syria's South

Daraa is where Syria's revolution began four years ago. Now it's the scene of a forgotten war, in which largely secular Free Syrian Army (FSA) rebels — marginalized elsewhere in Syria — continue to lead the struggle against Bashar al-Assad's regime.

The FSA are fighting a bitterly hard battle under a virtual media blackout to change the course of Syria's civil war. If they can take Daraa, they will stand at the beginning of the road to Damascus, the seat of Assad's government.

VICE News followed the Fallujah Horan brigade of the FSA and their charismatic commander Abu Hadi Aboud as they fight to push the regime out of Daraa's eastern suburbs.

Yanukovich wasn't ousted by Poroshenko, which WAS elected despite anything you say and even russian government recognized him.
I lived and live in Russia, so don't tell me about 90-s. 90-s were crap, but that can't justify any crap that is done today.
"The same thing" hapened in Ukraine or Syria? Really? Well, you really know nothing about those conflicts then. Ukrainians didn't want to follow oligarchic corrupt Russian model of state-organisation - and they protested yanukovich. They wanted european-style develoment, but failed. This doesn't disprove the ideas of the maidan though.

Secular rebels my ass. I said it before and say it again: Assad is everything but and angel, but beside him and the kurds there is not a single group in Syria that should be supported.

In my opinion only a victory of both Assad and the kurds with the kurdish areas becoming a seperate state is a solution, though this will probably never happen.

I don't trust any of these people.

I feel bad for people just trying to live day to day, but everything is so tribal. Does anyone think any of the factions in Syria want genuine democracy? How would the FSA, or IS treat the alluwhite people if they took Damascus?

Call me crazy, but Assad doesn't seem so bad compared to other factions he's fighting. I've seen his regime protect Christians at least. This whole country is a giant clusterfuck. If these people were to get remotely close to taking down Assad Russia will come out swinging. I don't believe true democracy is possible in any of these countries.

Egypt voted for the Muslim brotherhood, and they fucked up in less than two years.

Turkey has democracy, but not if you're a Kurd. That's a whole different story. The Kurds deserve more attention than the fucking Palestinians, and get worse treatment than the assholes in Gaza. If only someone had taken out Mohamed none of this shit would be happening. Single most destructive asshole in human history.
